John Bishop from a small company in London contacted VPA and asked us to get him some prices for a computer
network and software.
We researched his requirements came up with a choice of three suppliers in
his area, obtained quotes, spoke to different companies and organised delivery and installation. We charged John
a fixed hourly rate for our services and all communication was conducted via e-mail and phone.
Example of how we can help the individual
Andrew Shaw is a self-employed computer programmer. He
works completely alone from home and doesn't have any employees. He is often so busy that he dosn't have a chance
to catch up on his straight forward administrative functions. He contacted VPA and asked us to assist him
on a daily basis and we analysed his workload and offered him a few hours of our time per day.
Andrew gave us tasks by e-mailing telephone numbers and
clear instructions of people we needed to call on his behalf. Bills he needed to pay where he required attached
notes and envelopes, invoices he needed to chase up. Meetings and appointments he needed to arrange and confirm
as well as restaurant bookings and hotels for business dealings.
VPA charges Andrew by the hour documenting all time spent on his work. We started his work within an
hour of us receiving his instructions. We e-mailed all his typed invoices and documents to him using Word V6
as attached files. Andrew also received a report with confirmation numbers for all his telephone work we carried
out, including names of everybody we had spoken to.
